| Phase Contrast Analysis (PCA) is currently being commercialized as a non-destructive technique to assess many defects, in critical components made of any material from pure metal to advanced composite. PCA technology provides a new approach to assessing current damage and assists in predicting useful remaining life in many critical components. |
| |
| PCA produces a pulsed, tunable monochromatic X-Ray beam, not the normal X-Ray used which is polychromatic. PCA can be tuned for any material, and to almost any depth. It can “see into” a machine, such as an aircraft and look at the nickel-alloy parts alone for example. It can do this without removing the skin. |

Phase Contrast Analysis (PCA) could be used for: |
Earlier detection of material degradation |
Lifetime health monitoring |
Failure prediction |
Component life extension |
